Baggu Crescent Bag Review

TikTok Made Me Buy It: The Viral Baggu Handbag That Holds Everything

If you grew up obsessed with Disney’s Halloweentown like I did, you probably remember Aggie Cromwell’s magical, bottomless purse. One scene that sticks with me is when she pulled out a toy skeleton, a giant jar of eyeballs, and more—her grandson exclaimed, “This bag defies logic!”

I often find myself asking the same thing about Baggu’s Crescent Bag, which went viral on TikTok for its ability to fit an unbelievable amount of stuff inside its seemingly small frame. Content creators have shown off what they can fit in their Baggus using the “What’s In My Bag?” trend, and the results are mind-blowing.

These TikToks appeared on my For You page right when I was getting tired of juggling my belongings. None of my purses were cutting it, so I resorted to stuffing everything in my jacket pockets or carrying things in my hands. Then came the Baggu Crescent Bag, which seemed to check all the boxes: big but not too big, stylish but minimalist, comfortable, and affordable. From the moment I slung it over my shoulder, I knew it was handbag heaven.

Customization Station

At first glance, the Baggu Crescent Bag may not stand out—it’s not flashy or adorned with fancy buckles. Instead, it’s made of recycled heavyweight nylon, giving it a rugged, utilitarian vibe. While it comes in solid colors that seem plain, I opted for the black version because I wanted something versatile. Plus, TikTok had me excited about all the customization possibilities—people were decorating their bags with keychains, patches, and pins.

While I haven’t added any patches to mine yet (I prefer to collect them on trips for sentimental reasons), I did attach an adorable Amuseable Coffee-to-Go Bag Charm from JellyCat. This little touch of personality brings a smile to my face every time I see it.

Beyond customization, the Baggu has other standout features. It comes with an adjustable strap, allowing you to wear it as a shoulder bag or crossbody. The long 37.5-inch strap means the bag rests just below my hips, which is ideal for my 5’3” frame. I also love the two interior pockets, which help keep me organized. No more scrambling for my wallet or keys at the bottom of the bag—these pockets are lifesavers.

A Bottomless Pit

To sum up the Baggu Crescent Bag, I’ll borrow from Succession’s Tom Wambsgans: “It’s ludicrously capacious.” In the show, Tom hilariously describes a Burberry bag as being large enough to hold a lunch pail, flats for the subway, and more. The Baggu Crescent might not fit a lunch pail, but it certainly holds a lot more than it appears from the outside.

In a top-liked TikTok, someone managed to fit a water bottle, wallet, makeup, sunglasses, Nintendo Switch, headphones, iPhone, and charger—all in one Crescent Bag. My own experience has been similar. I’ve carried everything from books and journals to iPads and over-ear headphones. It even fits my Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3!

It’s also a game-changer for errands. Since my home state of New Jersey banned plastic bags, I’ve often had to buy reusable totes while shopping because I forgot to bring one. But with the Crescent Bag, I always have space to carry groceries without needing an extra tote.
